My Plea to the Lord
© May 5, 1986 by Paul M. Combs, Jr. All Rights Reserved

Lord, I pray to thee my soul to keep
Here I lay on my hands and knees
I pray to you, God’s only son
Jesus Reins my kingdom come
When I die, I know where I go
It’s through God’s prayers, he tells me so
I’d like to share my happiness
Right now my friend’s futures look bliss
I don’t want to know that they’ll burn
Oh Lord will you help them learn
I’ve got some friends of other religions
I’ve got some friends that even sin
I pray to you, to show them the light
And guide them to heaven with all you might.
Lord has mercy, to the souls of despair.
Here I lay, I now shed a tear.
